You may be eligible for an NHS Health Check if you are:

    • Aged 40 to 74
    • Living in England
    • You have not had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years

You are usually not eligible if you already have, or are being treated for, any of the following:

    • Heart disease or heart failure
    • Stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA)
    • Diabetes
    • High blood pressure (hypertension)
    • Atrial fibrillation
    • Chronic kidney disease (stage 3 to 5)
    • Peripheral arterial disease
    • Familial hypercholesterolaemia (inherited high cholesterol)
    • You are currently prescribed a statin to lower cholesterol
    • A previous check found you have a 20% or higher 10-year cardiovascular risk

If you already have one of these conditions, you should already be receiving regular checks through your GP or care team.
