Smoking Cessation

At McQueen’s Pharmacy, we understand how challenging it can be to quit smoking — but with the right support, it is entirely achievable. Quitting is one of the best things you can do for your health and our team is here to help you every step of the way.

We offer a range of evidence-based treatments, including prescription-only medications like Bupropion and Varenicline, to help reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Combined with expert advice and ongoing support, these treatments can significantly increase your chances of quitting for good.

How Our Treatments Work

We offer several clinically proven medications to support your quit attempt. Our Pharmacists will help determine which option is most suitable for you based on your medical history, lifestyle and preferences.

Varenicline (Champix)

A highly effective medication that reduces the pleasure you get from smoking while also easing withdrawal symptoms. Champix is typically taken over 12 weeks, starting a week or two before your quit date.

All medications are available following a short, confidential consultation to ensure they are safe and appropriate for you.

 Bupropion (Zyban)

An antidepressant that helps reduce nicotine cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms. Zyban is usually started a week before your quit date and taken daily for several weeks.
