If you have run out of a regular prescribed medicine and cannot get to your GP, we may be able to supply a small emergency amount to keep you going until your next prescription.
What to do first: try your GP surgery or call NHS 111 - out of hours they can often issue a prescription electronically to us. If the NHS route is not available, an emergency supply may be possible as a private, chargeable service.
Eligibility is decided on the day by the pharmacist. We will ask about the medicine, how long you have been taking it, your medical history, and confirm you have had it prescribed before. Bring the packaging or a recent repeat slip if you can.
Realistic expectations: this is never guaranteed. Some medicines - including most controlled drugs and medicines you have never been prescribed - cannot be supplied this way. Where a supply is possible, it is a short bridging quantity, not a full prescription.

Ask your GP surgery to nominate McQueen's Pharmacy as your pharmacy on the NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). Once nominated, every repeat prescription your GP signs is sent to us electronically - ready to collect from the pharmacy or delivered free to your door.
